"The Global Oil and Gas Exploration & Development Landscape and Oil Companies' Dynamics (2025)" Launched in Beijing

On July 17, the launch event for "Global Oil and Gas Exploration & Development Trends and Oil Company Updates (2025)" was held at the Exploration & Development Research Institute. Ren Jingdong, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration, and Zhang Daowei, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager of the Group Company, attended the event and delivered speeches.
Ren Jingdong stated that the National Oil and Gas Strategic Research Center has actively leveraged its role as a national-level platform, boldly embracing the responsibility of a "national think tank." The center has efficiently mobilized top-tier research resources and expert teams from China's oil and gas sector, consistently publishing an annual report on the global oil and gas exploration and development landscape, as well as updates on major oil companies, for the past nine years. These reports provide in-depth analyses of resource-rich countries' oil and gas exploration and development trends, cutting-edge industry insights, emerging development patterns, and the latest developments among international oil and gas enterprises. This valuable information serves as a vital reference for advancing China's oil and gas industry toward high-quality growth, while also playing a proactive role in supporting national strategies and safeguarding the country's energy security.
Zhang Daowei stated that, for a long time, the National Oil and Gas Strategic Research Center has consistently fulfilled its mission as a "national think tank," systematically and thoroughly analyzing global upstream oil and gas business trends and the development strategies of international oil companies. This has provided scientific decision-making support for the high-quality overseas expansion of China National Petroleum Corporation's international operations, offered invaluable insights for the oil and gas industry seeking to broaden its overseas presence, and served as a forward-looking, strategic, and forward-planning reference for formulating the nation's energy strategies, plans, and policies. The Group Company will firmly support the Exploration and Development Research Institute in building the National Oil and Gas Strategic Research Center into a world-class research platform, fully leveraging the platform's aggregation effect and fostering synergistic advantages among its member units, while continuously enhancing the brand impact of its research成果发布会 (Research Achievement Release Conference).
At the meeting, four experts from the National Oil and Gas Strategic Research Center delivered presentations on topics such as the global oil and gas exploration and development landscape, along with its implications. Over 170 representatives attended the event in person, including delegates from national ministries and commissions like the National Energy Administration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Natural Resources, as well as representatives from energy companies, universities, and research institutions.
