Steady growth of crude oil and natural gas production in China

On August 15, the National Bureau of Statistics released energy production in July 2024. Data show that in July, the production of crude oil and natural gas in industries above designated size (referred to as industries above designated size) increased steadily.
In crude oil, production growth accelerated and processing declined.In July, the output of industrial crude oil was 17.9 million tons, an increase of 3.4 percent over the same period last year, 1.0 percentage points faster than in June, and the average daily output was 577000 tons. The processing capacity of industrial crude oil was 59.06 million tons, down 6.1 percent from the same period last year, an increase of 2.4 percentage points over June, with an average daily processing capacity of 1.905 million tons.
From January to July, the output of industrial crude oil reached 0.12496 billion tons, up 2.1 percent year on year. Imports of crude oil 0.31781 billion tons, down 2.4.
For natural gas, production grew steadily.In July, industrial natural gas production reached 20 billion cubic meters, an increase of 7.9 percent over the same period last year, 1.7 percentage points slower than in June, with an average daily output of 0.65 billion cubic meters. Imported 10.86 million tons of natural gas, up 5.6 percent year-on-year.
From January to July, industrial natural gas production reached 143.6 billion cubic meters, up 6.2 percent year-on-year. Imported 75.44 million tons of natural gas, up 12.9 percent year-on-year.
