Huishite’s Multi-Phase Flow Separation and Metering Unit Successfully Commissioned at a Turkmenistan Gas Field
2026-01-27
Recently, three sample-based multiphase flow separation and metering units developed and manufactured by Wistron were successfully commissioned as part of the Phase III, Stage II surface facilities project in the eastern gas field of Block B within Turkmenistan’s Bagtyyarlyk Contract Area—specifically for the Agaere and Ak-Gumolam gas fields. This achievement has provided a reliable guarantee for the stable supply of local energy resources and has earned high recognition from the client.
As the core region for China–Central Asia energy cooperation, the Bagtyyarlyk Contract Area shoulders the critical mission of developing natural gas resources and ensuring a stable supply. The eastern gas field in Block B is located deep within the Karakum Desert, where the reservoir exhibits complex characteristics such as high pressure and high sulfur content, placing extremely stringent demands on the accuracy and environmental adaptability of metering equipment. The newly commissioned sampling-type multiphase flow separation and metering unit has been specifically designed to meet the unique operating conditions of this region. By adopting a composite architecture that combines primary separation with high-precision sampling and metering, the unit significantly reduces equipment footprint and lowers costs while achieving precise measurement of gas–liquid multiphase flows. This effectively addresses the longstanding challenges faced by conventional units in desert environments—namely, large size, low accuracy, and difficult maintenance. The unit boasts the following four key advantages:
I. Excellent Environmental Adaptability
Manufactured from materials resistant to high sulfur content, it can reliably handle extreme operating conditions such as high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide in the process medium, ensuring long-term, dependable operation under demanding environmental conditions.
II. Reliable Metrological Performance
An innovative two-stage cyclone separation process is employed to achieve gas-phase homogenization, with a separation efficiency exceeding 99%. When paired with a high-precision real-time data acquisition system, it enables precise monitoring of multiphase fluid parameters such as oil, gas, and water, thereby providing reliable data support for dynamic reservoir analysis and precision management.
III. Compact and Efficient Integrated Design
Through deep optimization and the adoption of an integrated skid-mounted design, the system’s footprint is significantly reduced, costs are lowered, and process flows are simplified, enabling rapid deployment and immediate commissioning.
IV. Intelligent Operations and Maintenance Support
Supports real-time remote data transmission, online monitoring, and intelligent early warning, thereby reducing the frequency of manual inspections and operational maintenance costs, and aligning with the large-scale, intensive management requirements of modern oil and gas fields.
Upon commissioning of the three units, continuous online metering and dynamic monitoring of individual well production will be achieved, providing precise data support for the scientific optimization of gas field production capacity and comprehensively supporting the operations of the Agaer and Akkumolam gas fields. The successful commissioning of this project underscores our company’s robust capabilities in the independent R&D and manufacturing of high-precision metering equipment, laying a solid foundation for the stable operation of the China–Central Asia Natural Gas Pipeline and fulfilling our shared vision of “strengthening energy cooperation to benefit the people of China and Turkey.” Moving forward, we will take this project as a benchmark to continuously advance the R&D, iteration, and widespread application of high-end metering equipment, thereby delivering more intelligent and reliable energy service solutions to our customers.
